Meet the WhiteStar Team
With more than 100 years of combined practical experience, the core staff at WhiteStar represents some of the best minds in the industry. We use our expertise and shared knowledge, including our awareness of the industry pulse, to offer products that empower our clients to map to the greatest of their ability.
President and CEO
For the past 20 years, Robert White has developed innovative digital cartographic solutions for clients in oil and gas, pipeline, natural resource and related industries. He founded WhiteStar Corp. in 1990 as a provider of highly accurate digital mapping products and services. Today, WhiteStar is the premier provider of seamless, nation-wide map database products and custom mapping solutions in the United States. Prior to WhiteStar, Robert served as President of Mentor Software Inc., a respected geodetic software company in Denver. At Mentor, he co-developed the Tralaine coordinate conversion application and LLCALC well spotting routines. In the late 1980s, Robert worked at Graphics Information Inc., a Denver developer of land survey databases. Robert White holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Geology from Dartmouth University.
Partner
One of the original WhiteStar executives, he joined the company in 1994 and is a partner. In prior roles at WhiteStar, Steve was involved with driving business development with a special focus on facilitating sales activities and creating new product and solutions for the company’s major accounts. Currently, he is managing the WhiteStar partner network working with several strategic industry business partners providing solutions to Oil and Gas clients. Before joining WhiteStar, Steve spent 11 years at Wang Laboratories in Denver and Albuquerque. While at Wang, he developed new software accounts in the legal and aerospace/defense markets. Steve Pickett has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Management and Finance from Syracuse University, he graduated in 1979.
Partner
Louise joined WhiteStar in 1995 as one of the original executives. Over the years, Louise has been involved in product development, quality assurance, project management and marketing. Louise was instrumental in the development of the WhiteStar Texas Land Survey. Before joining WhiteStar, Louise managed Platte River Digital Cartography from 1989-1995 where she was heavily involved in the development of the Platte River Digital Public Land Survey System (PLSS) product. She started her career as an Information Systems Technician assisting with a Florida hurricane inundation study. Louise is also a Course Director for the Professional Association of Diving Instructors and enjoys scuba diving as often as possible! Louise earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University in 1987.
VP of Operations | GIS Manager
Mike Schiewe is one of the geospatial industry's foremost experts in creating customized digital mapping solutions. Mike joined WhiteStar in 1999 with the acquisition of Platte River Digital Cartography where he had served as Cartography Manager since 1995. Today, Mike manages the WhiteStar technical staff and oversees large mapping projects. He earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Geography with concentrations in Remote Sensing and Conservation from Central Michigan University.
VP of Sales
Based in Houston, Randy has extensive experience in Oil and Gas technology, maintaining key relationships and solving client challenges around the world. The insight he has gained in Business Development roles for companies like petroWEB, EMGS, LMKR/GeoGraphix and IHS will be an invaluable resource for WhiteStar and our customers - particularly those based in Texas. Randy graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Randy enjoys golfing, fishing and the outdoors.
Finance Manager
With over 35 years experience in corporate accounting, Consuelo Chavez handles the finance and office management for WhiteStar. She joined the company in 1999 as the company was beginning a growth period with new products and direction. Working directly with the company owners and management team, she has streamlined the accounting procedures and maintained office stability. Consuelo has college studies in the fields of mathematics and home economics from Colorado State University.
QA/QC Manager
Jessica Schiewe joined WhiteStar in 1999 with the acquisition of Platte River Digital Cartography where she started as a Quality Control Technician in 1997. She earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Geography with a Cartography concentration and a minor in Spanish from Central Michigan University.
GeoData Admin Lead
Jeff has been with The WhiteStar Corporation since January 1999. As a member of the technical staff, his responsibilities include providing customer support for software, data loading, and general knowledge and training for all WhiteStar products. In addition, he is responsible for overseeing many of the data enhancement projects, particularly in regards to the 1:24K PLSS & Texas Survey layers. He earned his Bachelors Degree from Central Michigan University in 1996.
Account Manager
Mark joined Whitestar in 2011, bringing his knowledge and expertise in computer data analysis and mapping with intricately producing the best quality products for our partners. Since starting at WhiteStar, he moved into an Account Manager position. He is currently assisting clients in the Midstream/Pipeline Industry, with his GIS insight and maintaining highly successful business relations. He earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Meteorology from Central Michigan University and focuses his knowledge from the sky to the earth.
Geodata Administrator
Pete Vaziri started with WhiteStar in 2014 and specializes in geospatial data administration, optimization, visualization, and interaction. He serves as WhiteStar’s geodata and web services administrator. He enjoys making geospatial data accessible, seamless, and most of all, useful. Pete has over 10 years within Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and over 30 years in software technology. Before the GIS-intensive portion of his career, he was a usability engineer and an award-winning software professional services senior consultant. He has earned a Graduate Certificate in GIS and a Masters of Arts degree in Human Factors and User-Centered Design.
GIS Technician
Stephanie joined the WhiteStar team in January 2017 specializing as a Quality Control GIS Technician. Her background with GIS data acquisition and compilation ensures WhiteStar’s data meets all standards of accuracy. She gained much of her GIS background from working with the U.S. Geological Survey. Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Science in Geology from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2014.
GIS Data Compiler
Jeremy joined WhiteStar in January 2017. He is part of the parcel data acquisition division of WhiteStar where he is responsible for data compiling and QA/QC. He gained experience in GIS while interning with both HERE North America, LLC in Chicago, and for the City of Elmhust, IL. Jeremy studied Geography and Environmental Studies at Augustana College in Illinois, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in May 2015.
GIS Data Compiler
Olga became a part of WhiteStar in March 2017, working in the parcel data acquisition team. She previously worked as a GIS software and tool tester for the USGS and, prior to that, she conducted undergraduate research on the paleoecology of northern Vietnam. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Geography-Environmental Science as well as a Sustainability Minor and GIS Certificate in December 2016 from the University of Colorado Denver.
Office Administrator
Jerry joined WhiteStar in January 2017. He previously worked at Taiwan Business Bank as a Finance Sales Specialist before joining WhiteStar. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Ming Chun University.
